William C. Burns II, M.D.

F.A.A.O.S., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Burns is originally from Boise, Idaho. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Baylor University. After college, Dr. Burns attended the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical School where he received his medical doctorate and was elected into Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society. Dr. Burns completed his orthopaedic surgery residency training at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia. He finished his fellowship training at the University of Chicago in Sports Medicine. Dr. Burns is board certified in orthopaedic surgery, and holds fellowships in the American College of Surgeons, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the Arthroscopy Association of North America.

During Dr. Burns' 14 years in practice, he has provided care for numerous teams and athletes, including the Dallas Freeze of the Central Hockey League. He is the team physician for the NAHL Texas Tornado Junior A Hockey Team, who are three-time national champions. He is the team physician for Kurt Thomas Gymnastics. He is also the team physician for Plano East Senior High School. He has served as the Chief of Staff for Centennial Medical Center. Dr. Burns specializes in knee and shoulder reconstruction and arthroscopy. In his spare time, he enjoys weight lifting, snow skiing, and golf. He and his wife Cheryl reside in Plano with their four children.
