
Richard G. Buch, M.D.

For over 17 years, Dr. Buch has practiced in one of the most rare, yet important, specialties in the country : orthopaedic oncology. Board certified in orthopaedic surgery and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American College of Surgeons, he was one of the first surgeons in Texas to perform a custom modular prosthesis for hips and knees, which is now a standard procedure. He was also one of the first surgeons in the country to perform ceramic hip surgery. An expert on minimally invasive surgical techniques, he is renowned for his successful outcomes in surgery of the bone, muscles and extremities in both adult and pediatric cancer patients. Dr. Buch founded the Dallas Limb Restoration Center, a highly specialized clinic at Medical City Dallas that offers expert treatment and surgery to patients who are at-risk of losing their limbs as a result of cancer. Because of his pioneering efforts and experience in orthopaedic oncology, Dr. Buch is a leading expert in his field who is much sought after to give numerous presentations and lectures.
Dr. Buch received his medical doctorate at the University of Illinois, completed his orthopaedic training at the Indiana University School of Medicine, and performed his fellowship at George Washington University Medical Center, Children’s National Medical Center and the National Institutes of Health. He and his wife, Rosa, reside in Dallas.
